2558 Lyndale Av. S.
An eco-friendly south Minneapolis cafe that features deliciously chewy bagels, zippy salads, sandwiches and a few great dinner entrees, with an emphasis on locally-grown ingredients.
Finally, a bagel Minnesota can be proud of: Amber-tinted, chewy beauties unlike any seen in these parts. Pair these bagels with silky smoked Atlantic salmon and tangy Wisconsin-made cream cheese. The kitchen also offers a a small selection of light-and-bright deli salads, a seemingly limitless roster of soups, and sandwiches both hot and cold. After 5 p.m. there are are a handful of affordable, ever-changing dinner entrees. Common Roots is justly proud of its efforts to keep its carbon footprint as small as possible (composted kitchen waste, take-away cartons from compostable material), but without wrapping itself in some kind of hemp shroud.
