Co-owners Thomas Boemer and Nick Rancone saw an opportunity when neighboring La Chaya Bistro closed its doors in December. By June, the duo had relocated three blocks south to far roomier quarters, giving Boemer, one of the city’s under-the-radar culinary stars, some much-needed elbow room. His cooking — refined, adventurous and an obvious reflection of a varied résumé — also includes occasional nods to the South, no surprise as Boemer grew up in North Carolina. Immerse yourself in Boemer’s mindset with a five-course tasting menu ($65), a winning representation of Boemer’s creative chops and rigorous technical acumen. Meanwhile, Rancone and Boemer are working to transform the former Corner Table space into their soon-to-open Revival, which will specialize in fried chicken and other affordably priced Southern comfort food classics.
