Every city needs a bar that isn’t just a bar. It needs a place that isn’t come-as-you-are. It needs a put-on-your-most-designer-jeans and tallest-Louboutins kind of place, where you can drop a cool twenty on a single frosty flute of champagne, and watch your bling sparkle off the Riedel and celebrate the fact that you are living the good life. MECCA BOS
This D'Amico & Partners venue has a one-two punch: An eye-catching contemporary atmosphere (with marvelous Loring Park views) and chef Adam King's terrific New American menu, arranged in a la carte fashion, with simple, beautifully prepared fare, including double-cut Berkshire pork chops with apple chutney, miso-glazed sea bass, whole steamed lobster and roasted foie gras with pears. The bar, a Beautiful People magnet, pours more than 40 wines by the glass and has a doozy of a small-bites menu: fantastic mini-burgers, cheese puffs and cinnamon-dusted mini-doughnuts. Service is generally first-rate, and a pair of outdoor patios are standard-setters.
