Hot Tuna

Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have been playing together for over 50 years, starting out when they were teenagers in the D.C. area, achieving rock fame in San Francisco with the Jefferson Airplane, and revisiting the blues since 1969 with Hot Tuna. The comparative newcomer and co-star in the present-day Hot Tuna is mandolin ace Barry Mitterhoff, perhaps the world's most versatile player of his instrument, also known for his work in bluegrass, klezmer, chamber classical, Brazilian and Italian music groups. What other mandolinist can claim to have played often with hallowed feminist country songwriter Hazel Dickens, durable cosmic cowboy Peter Rowan, and the late Metropolitan Opera tenor Jerry Hadley?
