Dean Wareham and Advance Base

Before every tight-jeaned quartet with a Bandcamp page copped the “dream pop” descriptor, there was Dean Wareham’s Galaxie 500. That short-lived but influential indie act called it quits in 1991, but Wareham was quick to form another fondly remembered group, Luna, before finally going it solo. His Jim James-produced eponymous solo debut dropped in March, and features the warmly harmonious droning you’ve come to expect. Advance Base opens. JAY BOLLER
