Toadies, Supersuckers and Battleme

Issued somewhere between the runoff of grunge and the advent of Ozzfest-era metal in 1994, the Toadies’ album “Rubberneck” offered a well-timed and very well-executed blast of metallic crunch and bleeding guitars that didn’t follow the current trends — and thus has stood up well to time. The Interscope-issued record rode to platinum status on the success of the stalkerly single “Possum Kingdom” but included many more wicked jams, such as “Backslider” and “I Come From the Water.” The Texas rockers are playing it in its entirety timed to a 20th anniversary reissue. Supersuckers and Austin’s Battleme open. Chris Riemenschneider
